@Serenitypinkity beginning consonant + vowel + bottom consonant = one complete letter. beginning consonant + vowel still makes up a letter, and you need at least both of them to make a letter

@JosKiddin japanese and korean are syllabaries. chinese is symbol oriented and is competely different than the japanee and korean writing system. for japanese except for 2 letters every letter is a syllabary with consonant+vowel, but korean has individual letter for all vowels and consonants

@ozaki1 Yes, we know that. However, when you’re in Korea for 2 days and need to buy shampoo and no one speaks English, sometimes you have to get creative. Now we can read Korean with no problem.

learn to read! It’s the easiest Asian variety, and very simple indeed. They’re no ‘symbols’ – they’re words made up of alphabets!

Some one gave you advice that was true (and still is true for small towns) five to seven years ago. Gotta luv the serbeuseu! [a Konglish use of service]
Oh, how I love to shop and snack at Homeplus, Lottemart, or E-mart. They give you their sales-pitch (which I mostly don’t understand) you get the sample; dumpling, fried pork, tofu with chopped onions and soy sauce. then just smile and say thanks. it’s awesome.
